SA students who made the leap
My internship in Dubai completely changed my career trajectory. Coming from Joburg, I thought it was out of reach financially - but the ZAR pricing was honest, the visa support was incredible, and I got a full-time offer after the placement.
I was nervous about the Schengen visa process but the team walked me through every step. My Barcelona internship counted toward my WIL requirement at Wits and the company was genuinely impressive. Worth every rand.
Bali on a student budget sounds impossible but it is genuinely cheaper than Cape Town. The local team was fantastic, my sustainability project was meaningful, and I came back with a portfolio that landed me my graduate job.
Frequently asked questions
Yes - SA passport holders need visas for the EU (Schengen visa), UK, USA, and most destinations for anything longer than a tourist stay. Dubai requires a UAE tourist visa but it is quick to obtain online or via airlines. Kenya and Ghana offer straightforward eVisas. Our Full Placement Service includes full visa guidance for every destination. We handle the paperwork with you.
Our service fees: Living Profile is R149 one-off. Full Placement Service starts from R14 900 with pay-on-success model. Living costs vary hugely by destination - Bangkok is cheaper than Johannesburg (around R6,500-R9,000/month), while London can be R22,000-R30,000/month. Our budget calculator gives you real ZAR numbers for every destination.
Yes, if your SA university has an Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility agreement. UCT, Wits, Stellenbosch, and UP have these partnerships. Stipends of approximately EUR 800/month are available for qualifying students. Contact your university's International Office. We can help you identify which of our partner companies qualify.
In most cases, yes. We work with SA universities including UCT, Wits, Stellenbosch, and UP to ensure placements meet WIL (Work-Integrated Learning) requirements. We provide formal documentation, learning agreements, and supervisor reports. Contact us with your specific faculty requirements and we will confirm compatibility before you commit.
Dubai is among the easiest - UAE tourist visas are obtained quickly online or via airlines, no Schengen complexity. Kenya and Ghana are straightforward eVisa processes. Canada (IEC Working Holiday) is well-structured for SA applicants. EU destinations require a Schengen visa - more paperwork but very achievable with our guidance.
From initial consultation to confirmed placement typically takes 3-5 weeks. We recommend starting at least 4-5 months before your desired start date to allow for visa processing (Schengen visas can take 4-8 weeks). Dubai and some other destinations can move faster. Start early for the best destination selection.
